Council Approves Special Election for Clerk, Police Chief 

The Santa Clara City Council approved a ballot measure for an appointed police chief and city clerk and the Downtown Precise Plan.

During the Dec. 5 meeting of the Santa Clara City Council, the Council approved placing ballot wording for a charter amendment that would turn the police chief and city clerk positions into positions appointed by the city manager. Attendees at the 54th Parade of Champions had to deal with some heat, but still received a great show and fun festivities throughout the day.
