Santa Clara Police Seeking Information Regarding 4th of July Great America Shooting

The Santa Clara Police Department is on scene at Maywood Park with armored rescue vehicle. Eisenhower School on shelter in place.

The Santa Clara Police Department (SCPD) is asking for the public’s help for information related to a shooting (Case Number: 19-0704249) that occurred on the 4th of July at about 9:40 p.m. at California’s Great America Theme Park — 4701 Great America Parkway.

A fight involving several individuals from two separate groups occurred outside the Great America park, in the area leading up to the metal detectors at the entrance. At one point, one member of a group fired one shot from a handgun. One victim was struck on the arm. The bullet did not break the victim’s skin. The victim was treated on site for her minor injuries. The unidentified suspect fled the scene. The suspect and the gun are outstanding.
