Santa Clara Police Report: June 16 – 22

The Santa Clara Police Department is on scene at Maywood Park with armored rescue vehicle. Eisenhower School on shelter in place.

The Police Blotter highlights a partial list of incidents in the City and is distributed on a weekly basis. The Blotter provides the date, time, approximate location, a narrative summary of the incident, case number and the most serious arrest charge.

Fraud

Location: 601 El Camino Real

On 5/27/19, a victim was contacted via phone by a male subject misrepresenting himself as a public defender. The subject stated the victim’s granddaughter was a passenger in a vehicle that was pulled over and arrested because drugs were found in the car. The subject demanded money for the granddaughter’s defense. The victim sent approximately $73,000 in multiple installments.

A bank notified the victim’s daughter of excessive withdrawals on 6/14/19.

The suspect is unknown and still outstanding.

Monday, June 17, 2019

Stolen Vehicle

Location: Monroe Street and Scott Boulevard

An officer located an unoccupied stolen vehicle at approximately 0204 hours parked in the area of the 2200 block of Deborah Drive.

Later, a male subject drove away in the vehicle. Officers conducted a high-risk traffic enforcement stop at Monroe Street and Billings Place. The driver complied with officer instructions and was taken into custody without incident.

The subject did not provide his identity. A Records check revealed he was on searchable probation. He was transported to the Santa Clara County Jail.

Warrant Arrest

Location:  1800 Block of Washington Street

An officer was dispatched to the 1800 block of Washington Street on the report of a vehicle draining liquid into the street.

Upon arrival, an officer located a male subject associated with the vehicle. A Records check revealed the subject had a no bail warrant and was on searchable probation. He was arrested and transported to the Santa Clara County Jail.

Warrant Arrest

Location:  Orkney Avenue and Tyne Way

Public Safety Dispatchers received a call regarding loud music coming from a vehicle.

Upon arrival, an officer located a male subject associated with the vehicle. A Records check revealed the subject had three misdemeanor warrants. He was arrested and transported to the Santa Clara County Jail.

Friday, June 21, 2019

Drinking

Location: 1515 Civic Center Park

Public Safety Dispatchers received a call from a reporting party requesting an area check at Civic Center Park, located at 1515 Civic Center Drive.

A subject was observed drinking an alcoholic beverage in a public park. The reporting party contacted the subject and when confronted the subject threw food at the reporting party.

A Records check revealed the subject had a bench warrant for her arrest. She was arrested.

Stolen Vehicle

Location: 1700 Block of Halford Avenue

An unknown suspect(s) stolen a motorcycle from the 1700 block of Halford Avenue sometime between 2330 hours on 6/21/19 and 0830 hours on 6/22/19. The suspect(s) left behind the motorcycle’s rear license plate.

The suspect(s) are unknown and at large.
